Character Name: Ashley Hammond
Age: 20ish
Canon: Power Rangers
Canon Point: post PR: Lost Galaxy- Power of Pink
Character History: PR WikiCanon Abilities:As a ranger Ashley has increased speed, endurance, and strength. She’s able to pit off against monsters and hold her own, though to tap into the full strength of a ranger she has to be morphed, which can only be done with her morpher. She’s got an astroblaster in a holster when she’s morphed, and can summon her star-slinger, which is an energy weapon similar to the astroblaster. She can also combine the two for a boosted shot. She also has a blade arm technique, where a charged energy blade will appear on her arm and she can slice an opponent. Outside of morph she has the accelerated healing that all rangers do, but is otherwise just as breakable as your average human.
She was a cheerleader for several years, and did gymnastics and took karate classes, so while when she starts off a little shaky as a ranger, by the end she is an accomplished hand-to-hand combatant, in and out of her gear. She’s also got good aim, especially with the astroblaster or her star-slinger.
Aside from battle skill, she does have a strong grasp of the systems that run the astromegaship, suggesting she’s adept with computer programs and maintaining them. And don’t let the acrylic nails fool you, she knows her way around a car engine and can help with basic maintenance, she also helps with maintenance on the Megaship. Anything she doesn’t know, she’ll do her best to figure it out. She had an interest in designing her own clothes, but it turns out she's really better at pairing outfits than coming up with them from scratch.
She’s also very good at pool.
Inventory: Astro morpher, communicator watch, the clothes on her back which are tragically that space ranger uniform, and an arrow-shaped golden pendant with a yellow stone set at its center from KO-35
🦋 Personality
Option 1: Answer the following questions. Elaborate on the answer, especially your characters thoughts and feelings surrounding the answer. For Canon Characters, you can choose four questions. For Original Characters, you will need to choose six questions. Keep the word count to 150-400 per question.
- What mythological creature would your character most like to be? Which do they identify with? Which would they dread being?
If she's picking, the mythological creature Ashley would probably most like to be would be a muse, an inspiration to others and surrounded by beauty. She would gravitate in that direction being that she likes to think of herself as a role model for others, and tries to lead by example with her kindness. Plus the muses are quite varied in overall temperament and design, so she would probably fit in well, there.
As for which she'd identify with the most, the sylph is more likely, as volatile is an appropriate word for Ashley's temperament. While she is overall a kind and compassionate person who will step out and do anything for anyone, she can also be petty and mean and blow things entirely out of proportion, like when she practically got into a knock down drag out with her best friend over some dirty dishes.
She would dread becoming an ogre. Something large and ugly and foul smelling would absolutely shatter that little exceptionally vain part of her. And you know, Shrek hasn't come out as of her canon point, so that wouldn't be a touchstone to soften the blow of being large and stinky and ugly.
- If your character could ask for one wish, and it's going to be magically granted without any consequence, what will it be and why?
She'd ask for Andros to have never lost his sister. Because she had a good childhood and grew up with her family that loved her, a wish for herself would seem trivial, because she has everything that she could ever want. She knows Andros would never ask for himself because he'd consider the outside ramifications. Things like how he might not end up in space if he wasn't looking for Karone, or that the Space Rangers never would have been under attack without Astronema wouldn't have mattered, because she believes that things have a way of working themselves out, and if they're destined to find each other, they will.
It boils down to that she knows how much it continues to hurt him how he lost her, and how much he blames himself for that day. If it were within her power to take that pain away, she would do it, without hesitation.
- What is your character's most outstanding personality trait, and why?
Her genuine kindness. It isn't an act, she isn't a pretty mean girl who is just nice to people to look good in front of grownups and people she wants to impress. She genuinely cares about people and wants to help everyone. She stops on the street to talk to little kids, she plays games and gives out hugs when people are afraid. She is the first to step up and offer a shoulder to cry on, and the last person to sleep in a crisis. She genuinely wears her heart on her sleeve, and while she can have small moments of cruelty she always apologizes, and always makes things right, because she is not the kind of person who can live with someone else feeling like she doesn't like them. She knows everyone can have a bad day, but it's on the shoulders of that to not to take it out on others, and if they do, to make it right at the end.
- Your character gets to return home, but when they do they learn that they've been gone for hundreds of years. How do they react?
Ashley would be devastated. A big part of her identity comes from how much she loves her family and friends, and she would likely fall apart with the reality of all of them being gone. While she is very much someone who tries to look on the brighter side of things, and finds hope in the dark, if she were alone that would be a big fear realized.
Eventually she would pick herself up and try to find a way back to her own time, one way or another. If she ended up hundreds of years in the future, surely there'd be some way to get back, and that would keep her going for as long as it needed to. The hope that she could get back to the people she loves. It might eventually come with some acceptance, if she can't find a way back to the past, that her reality is in the present, and she likely would make new friendships and find new people to care for, possibly even people she would care for enough that the thought of traveling back to the past would truly be a conflict to her.
But unless she built a whole other life, and decades had past, if she had made a new family to tether her to the future, she would always end up going back to her family, and her old friends.
